Ij Start Canon TS3100 Driver

IJ Start Canon Pixma TS3100– The Canon Pixma TS3100 is one of the cheapest all-in-one (AIO) printer photos we’ve reviewed recently, it’s also one of the smallest, slowest, and shortest features. TS3100 is designed for families and households that make very little printing and copying – a kind of device that is there when you need it. In this role, this is a lower-cost alternative for the Canon Pixma TS5020 or Canon Pixma TS9120 Wireless Inkjet All-in-One that is much more expensive.

Minimalism in All Things
Measuring 5.8 times 12.5 times 17.2 inches (HWD) with a closed tray and weighing 8.5 pounds, very little AIO is as small as TS3100, except the HP DeskJet 3755 (5.6 times 15.9 times 7 inches and 5 , 1 pound), although the Epson Expression Home XP-440 Small-in-One is very close, and weighs only half and more. The next TS-series model, the Canon TS5020, measures around four inches and is almost twice as heavy. In addition, the Canon TS5020 uses five inks, while the TS3100 uses only four inks, making it the first better choice for printing photos.

It is important to note that all of these entry-level printers have increased significantly in depth and height with the input and output trays used. TS3100, for example, rises from 12.5 inches long to 21.8 inches, and the HP 3755 extends up to about 5 inches and extends more than 10 inches. Even so, most fit comfortably on the average desktop, and TS3100 (and its competitors) are designed to close easily, take up as little space as possible while not in service.

Another striking gift that the TS3100 is a low-volume printer is that instead of using separate print cartridges for each of the four inks (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, or CMYK), it only uses two. One tank holds black ink, and the other holds three other colors. Not only do these ink cartridges have less ink than different cartridges, but with three-color ink cartridges, the cartridge needs to be replaced when one of the three reservoirs is emptied – regardless of how much ink remains in the other two. reservoir. In other words, three ink tanks are often in vain.

For the time being, it looks like the printer manufacturer is moving away from this two-cartridge ink system, but it seems to be back. HP now has several, including the HP DeskJet 3755 and the company’s newest Envy Photo 7855 All-in-One, and TS3100 competitors that are far more expensive and full-featured. ”

In addition to the entry-level ink system, the minimum TS3100 paper handling capacity is only one 60-sheet paper tray, compared to two 100-sheet TS5020 and TS9120 trays, placing them securely in the entry-level column. The HP 3755, on the other hand, also only holds 60 sheets of paper, and the Epson XP-440 single tray can hold up to 100 sheets.

The TS3100 paper tray can also be configured to hold up to 20 sheets of premium 4-by-6-inch photo paper and up to 10 sheets of 5-by-7-inch photo paper, which is almost the same as the other models mentioned here. However, TS3100 does not support photo paper larger than 5 times 7 inches; You cannot print 8-times-10-inch borderless photos, for example, a much larger size.

Instead of a touch screen like a tablet with an icon that acts as a shortcut for managing and running various functions and workflow profiles, the TS3100 is equipped with a beginner level control panel consisting of several buttons and a 1.5-inch “segment” monochrome LCD. . You use the panel primarily to manage and monitor functions, make copies, adjust the size and type of paper, and so on. Most interactions will be done via your PC or mobile device. Print or scan to cloud sites, for example, set and run from your smartphone or tablet through one of the Canon mobile applications.

IJ Start Connections and Software
Because the TS3100 is at the bottom of the Canon Pixma-TS-series power sequence, it has the least connectivity options. Standard connectivity consists of Wi-Fi and connects to one PC via USB.The other four TS-series models come with Bluetooth, and the Canon TS9120 supports Ethernet. Cellular connectivity features, although less frequent than their higher siblings, include the Canon Print, Wireless Scanning and Pixma Cloud Link applications to connect well to various popular cloud sites and Canon’s own cloud file repositories.

Given that the TS-series AIO is designed primarily to work with photos, the TS3100 software package mainly consists of utilities to scan, improve, repair, manage, and print photos. Besides the drivers for the machine itself, you also get Canon’s Scan Utility, a scanning interface that is quite helpful, given the price and scope of this AIO; Master Setup, to configure and monitor the printer; My Printer Network Tool, for managing TS3100 on your wireless network; My Image Garden, a collection of refinements and filter corrections, such as red-eye removal and image cropping; and several others. And finally, there’s a Quick Menu in the lower right corner of your monitor and consists of a series of shortcuts for most software and hardware features.

Patience Is A Virtue
Even though the TS3100 isn’t the slowest printer I’ve seen recently, it’s not far behind. Canon ranks TS3100 at 7.7 pages per minute (ppm); at 5.5ppm, only HP 3755 has a slower rating. When printing our 12-page monochrome which is lightly formatted in Microsoft Word documents, TS3100 has outlined 4.8ppm compared to HP 3755’s 4.3ppm. Otherwise, the TS3100 is behind the Epson XP-440 around 3.5ppm, and the Canon TS5020 and TS6120 are around 8ppm. Canon’s Pixma G2200 MegaTank All-in-One, one of the company’s supertank models that gets ink from economical bottles rather than cartridges, makes our text documents 2.3ppm faster than TS3100.

When we combine the results of our more complex PowerPoint, Excel and Acrobat documents, consisting of colors, graphics and photos with the results of the previous Word document test, the TS3100 score drops to 2.1ppm, or about 1 page every 30 seconds. Again, this only beats HP 3755 (1.4ppm), but there is no AIO in this group that reaches 5ppm, or 10 seconds per page. Pixma TS5020 and TS6120 from Canon have the best performance, around 4.7ppm. None of these consumer-level photo-centric AIOs are truly suitable for producing more than 50 or more pages of business documents every month.

However, where many of them are superior, they print 4-by-6-inch (and 5-by-7-inch) photos. Indeed, the average print time of TS3100 1 minute 4 seconds is not very good, but the higher siblings (TS5020 and TS6120) managed to print the same page in about 20 seconds in our test. Usually, if the driver quality is set to High or Best, the print time of less than 1 minute is quite good.

Output Quality Is Better Than Expected
You cannot expect a four-class ink photo printer to produce better output than a six-ink printer, especially when printing photos. But let’s look at the TS3100 text output first. The text comes out in a good form, is well illustrated, and is very easy to read up to under 10 points in our text document tests, making it more than suitable for most family, student, or home office assignments. Business graphics and graphics and other colorful graphics are printed well too. The only problem I saw was a dark-green-flow-to-black gradient specifically designed to test the printer’s printing capabilities for appeal. There is a protrusion seen in filling this full one-page background, but it is not nearly as unsightly or unusable.

TS3100 also prints great photos. Those are bright, brilliant colors, and very detailed images that in my opinion most people will be more satisfied. However, when I checked the TS3100 photo output side by side with the same image of the Canon Pixma TS6120 five ink or TS9120 six ink, as well as the Expression Premium XP-640 Small-in-One ink five ink, I saw a real difference in quality. The colors look brighter, more saturated, and also … more beautiful, and the contents themselves are more detailed in AIO five and six inks.

Cost per photo
In addition to photo-optimized HP models using Instant Ink subscription programs, such as Envy Photo 7855, most consumer-level photo printers have high operating costs, especially compared to their office-oriented counterparts. Then again, most printers in this photo-centric price range or vice versa have high per page printing costs.

As such, the cost of TS720 is 8.7 cents per monochrome page and 18.7 cents for a colored page not far from its competitors’ lines. HP 3755 color per page (CPP) costs are higher than TS3100 by 0.3 cents, and monochrome CPP is the same. Even so, because you might not be printing a lot, the Epson XP-440 is 6.2 cents for monochrome and 18.2 cents for color is especially better, at least for this class of printers. However, because the Epson XP-440 uses a separate ink tank for each color, the operating costs of the XP-440 may even be slightly less.

As for other TS-series Pixmas, I can’t count accurate CPPs for five and six ink machines, mainly because there is no way to measure when, where, and in how much extra ink is used. Suffice it to say that their operating costs are likely not significantly different, given that all of these consumer-grade photo printers have low volume AIO.

Output Quality for Less
Canon Pixma TS3100 Wireless Inkjet All-in-One, TS AIO series at the lowest price, providing good quality printing at low prices, but saving a few dollars for one of five or six ink siblings will be charged in terms of speed and quality of photo output . This prints less than half the speed of the other four TS series models, which include the Canon Pixma TS9120 Editor’s Choice, while print quality, although better than acceptable, is not enough for the other four TS series. AIO too.

What is provided by TS3100 is a very low purchase price (but only around $ 20 less than the next model, Canon TS5020). It also prints slightly better and faster than the HP 3755 AIO. If you have a tight budget that does not allow you to choose one of the other TS-series Pixmas, or the more expensive Epson XP-440, the TS3100 is sure to print, copy and scan well enough to make it worthy of a choice for home and family offices.
